Happy 29th Birthday, honey!
On September 9th, my honey and yours, turned 29! He turned 29 on 09/09/09….um, crazy. We celebrated by taking cake to our homegroup on Tuesday night, then having a yummy seafood dinner together on Wednesday. His gift this year….a subscription to the Official Nintendo Magazine. Now he doesn’t need to wait until we1 go on a trip to treat himself to a magazine…fun times. Enjoy the pics!

Gary and Lauren Connor
Congratulations to our friends Gary and Lauren who tied the Scottish knot on September 7th! We’re so excited for you guys! Mike and I were honored to share in their wedding ceilidh. For those of you reading from the states, a ceilidh, is a traditional way of Scottish dancing.

Week 32!!
Hello all! Welcome to the picture from week 32! I’m a little bit behind on my blogging here. In reality I’m at week 34….so keep checkin’ the pics, there’s more to come! During week 32 we began our 8th month of pregnancy. The baby was weighing in at 1.8 kg (just under 4 pounds) and was about 48 cm long (just under 19 inches). He’s busy practicing away in there….swallowing, breathing, kicking, all kinds of wonderful stuff. He’s also working on his skin tone….instead of being see through, he’s meant to have opaque skin now…like us! Way to go, little guy, you’re working hard and Mommy’s proud of you!

British New Testament Conference
A few weeks ago, Mike attended and presented a paper at the British New Testament Conference in Aberdeen. The title of his paper was “Isotheoi Timai and the Worship of Jesus”….yeah, you’ll have to ask him. I did get to read the paper and hear him practice it a few times before he presented it….I wish I could have been there to cheer him on, but I know he did a fantastic job. He did take the camera with him….but he rarely remembers to take pictures. So I got a shot of him in his suit when he returned. Isn’t he handsome?!

Fun new recipe!
We enjoyed delicious maple sausage stuffed apples….I love trying new things! It perhaps sounds like a strange combination, but imagine how people really enjoy pork with applesauce, or just a bit of sweetness on meats. The maple syrup (golden syrup here in the UK) was a really yummy addition to the sausage and it’s just so rare that we have baked apples, so this was a fun new treat!

Daddy @ Week 31
So I must make an apology. This post has out of nowhere become all about me and baby….and you guys, of course, want to know how Daddy is too. We will not be doing week to week shots of Daddy, but as requested by our friends, the Gurney’s, we are posting a picture of what Daddy looked like at week 31……Mike is doing really well and is really excited about being a Dad. He talks to his son from time to time and gets him all worked up before Mommy heads to bed. He’s working hard on his CV now for applying for some teaching posts and has just recently finished writing an article and presenting a paper at the British New Testament Conference in Aberdeen (pics to follow soon). He’s also working 20 hours a week at Starbucks as a shift supervisor and is really enjoying the team that he’s working with….so Daddy is a busy beaver…and still manages to look this good!

Week 31
That’s right folks, this picture is when I was in the last week of month 7…..we’re getting closer! During this week the baby was close to 1.3kg, nearly 3 pounds, and was close to 46 cm long, 18 inches. He is almost reaching what will be his full birth length, but he’ll need to nearly double or triple in girth the next 7 or 8 weeks….yikes! The baby was working on his brain connections this week. He can track light and percive singals using all 5 of his amazing senses! He’s also spending time sleeping, though I wouldn’t know it. He moves all over the place!

Katie’s Kards
This is my friend, Katie Brown. She has an amazing talent of making cards and actually is the one who got me into card-making in the first place. My cards are nothing like hers. Hers are elegant, classy and really fun….mine are a silly little hobby. But Katie set up her first stall to sell her cards at a craft fair in Portobello and here are some shots of her table! My other friend, Katie Witherspoon and I enjoyed a fun filled day of taking in all of the stalls….who wouldn’t love craft shows?!

Glasgow Day Trip
This past weekend Clare and I went on a wee day trip to Glasgow, where she’s from. We had a lovely lunch and took a walk through Glasgow University and enjoyed a few little shops as well. Thanks for taking me along with you, Clare. That was a very special day for me!

Mairi’s 30th B-Day!
This is my good friend, Mairi Connor. Mairi turned 30 in early August and had a lovely meal at the church to celebrate. We enjoyed excellent lasagna, beautiful desserts….but most of all, we loved celebrating the gal we love. Happy birthday, Mairi!
