Mambo Italiana

June 19, 2008 at 2:56 pm (Trips)

We had the opportunity to go to Italy June 6-11. The highlight was definitely the fact that we got to see our good friend, Meagan Dean, from the states. Her choir and orchestra were touring through the country and we rallied along for the first day or so. We saw her in Rome, then stayed a few days in Florence and moved on to Pisa for the final day….what a beautiful trip! If you’d like to see pictures of our time there, look at the right hand column on the blog that has everything listed, go clear to the bottom and under the title ITALY, click on View Album. If you double click on the first picture, you can see a slideshow of our travels. Ciao!

Bye Berlews!

June 4, 2008 at 11:09 am (Friends in Scotland)

This past Sunday the gals got together to say goodbye to Patrice.  She and her husband Matt (who goes to school with Mike) will be heading back to the states in a few weeks.  Cheryl was heading back to the states for a few weeks too and so this was our last get together as a full group.  These are the three gals that I have been getting together with since the beginning of Mike’s schooling here in Edinburgh.  They are all from the states and all have husbands that go to school with Mike.  It’s been nice to meet Patrice and get to know her and share the ups and downs of the year together.  We wish you guys well and will miss you so much!

We decided to send Patrice off with some Scottish fare for the evening and some words of encouragement.  A good time was had by all! (Patrice is the one sitting next to me on the couch)

A Wee Day Trip

June 3, 2008 at 8:54 pm (Friends in Scotland, Trips)

This past Saturday Mike and I had the pleasure of taking a day trip with our friends Paul and Mairi.  We traveled to Stirling and Callander and had a lovely time!  Thought we’d show you a few pictures of our time there.

In the morning, we went to Stirling to get Mairi’s wedding band fixed and had a lovely little picnic lunch in a wooded area in Callander.  In the evening, Paul was playing drums for a church event and Mike helped out with the sound.  While they were setting up and practicing, Mairi and I wandered through the little town and enjoyed the sunshine…what a beautiful day!

Enjoy the shots!

The following pictures are from the town of Callander:

We had a great time with you, Paul and Mairi!  Thanks so much for asking us to come along!
